WSET Level 1 Award in Service

An introduction to the wines service profession, this course includes instruction in the art of wine service and includes the development of practical skills in a restaurant setting.  The course is run over two days, the first day covers the WSET Level 1 Award in Wine, and the second day covers the WSET Level 1 Award in Wine Service.

WSET Level 1If you already hold the WSET Level 1 Award in Wine, you can just book onto the one-day Award in Wine Service course.

What level of knowledge will I need to start this course?

No prior knowledge is required, this course will suit a novice wine enthusiast or those wishing to start their career in the wine or hospitality business.


The WSET Level 1 Award in Wine Service is assessed with a role play restaurant wine service scenario and a 30 multiple-choice question paper to be answered in 45 minutes. A mark of 70% required to pass and the exam takes place in the last session of each course.

Day release           8.45am – 4.30pm

Fee (2012/13 Academic Year):  £220.00

Includes study materials, glasses, samples, tuition, examination and provision of service equipment during the course. Study materials are issued at the start of the course.

This qualification is accredited at Level 1 in the UK National Qualifications Framework.
