EDW Level 1 – three day Sommelier training course

Introduction to SommelierThis Sommelier training course is aimed at those wishing to pursue a career as a sommelier and will equip attendees with the basic knowledge and required skills. The course covers product knowledge of wines and spirits and the basic service skills necessary in a practical restaurant setting. Those who are successful will attain all three of the WSET Level 1 qualifications.  The Sommelier training course is delivered as a three day course with an examination at the end of each day.

What level of knowledge will I need to start this Sommelier training course?

No prior knowledge is required. This course will suit a novice wine enthusiast or those wishing to start their career in the wine or hospitality business.

Exam

Role play restaurant wine service scenario, and a 30 multiple-choice questions to be answered in 45 minutes. A mark of 70% required to pass and the exam takes place in the last session of each course.

Day release           8.45am – 4.30pm

Fee (2012/13 Academic Year) – £295

Includes study materials, glasses, samples, tuition, examination and provision of service equipment during the course. Study materials are issued at the start of the course.
